Or, in other words, leaving the nest.
The story about our birdies continues and the parallel with their life and ours really sends goose bumps up my arms.
This story started the day Chuck left PA to fly to Seattle to meet up with me (flying up from Phoenix) to house hunt. That birdie started her house hunt that same day!
When we returned 4 days later, we had found our new home and mama bird had made her new home complete with beautiful eggs.
Final chapter: We had kept everyone away from her nest for THREE FULL WEEKS, so as not to jeopardize the little sweet birdies making it in their new world - posted signs, warned visitors to not come to the front door, used only the garage entrance with ten days of house guests (daughter and her family).
And THEN on the night before I knew that I would need to give up control on watching over this wonderful nest (two moving trucks were arriving the next morning -to pick up furniture and "stuff" that we decided not to take with us to Seattle, and I was so worried about the birdies being scared) - the birdies vacated their nest!
